About Me:
I'm the father of three girls and one step-son and live in Sedona, Arizona, which I think is one of the most beautiful places on planet Earth. Along with my family and an extended network of friends, I moved to Sedona 20 plus years ago. That was one of the best decisions of my life, although we (and the rest of the southwest) are currently suffering through an extended drought, which makes wild fires a major concern. With global warming ramping up, Sedona's long-term survival may eventually be an issue for me/us, too.
For more about my work and efforts to make sense of this world, the best place to go is NHNE (www.nhne.org). Online for over 14 years now (that's eons in Internet time), NHNE's website(s) contain a lot of information about my life experiences, and ever-changing beliefs and perspectives. In the nut shell, I'm interested in everything having to do with life's big questions: Who are we? Where are we from? Why are we here? Where are we headed? I'm also interested in everything having to do with human beings and human relationships; planet Earth, especially how we are going to clean up the mess we have made of this beautiful planet; and learning everything I can about the insights and life experiences of others.

A Few Favorite Quotes:
“It’s a bit embarrassing to have been concerned with the human problem all one’s life and find at the end that one has no more to offer by way of advice than ‘try to be a little kinder’.” – Aldous Huxley
………..
“Believe nothing just because a so-called wise person said it. Believe nothing just because a belief is generally held. Believe nothing just because it is said in ancient books. Believe nothing just because it is said to be of divine origin. Believe nothing just because someone else believes it. Believe only what you yourself test and judge to be true.” — Buddha
………..
“I have come to the frightening conclusion that I am the decisive element. It is my personal approach that creates the climate. It is my daily mood that makes the weather. I possess tremendous power to make life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration; I can humiliate or humor, hurt or heal. In all situations, it is my response that decides whether a crisis is escalated or de-escalated, and a person humanized or de-humanized. If we treat people as they are, we make them worse. If we treat people as they ought to be, we help them become what they are capable of becoming.” — Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749 - 1832)
…………
“I used to believe that making a contribution to others required that I give them information. Now I believe that the biggest contribution I can make is to ask the right question and listen.” — Bobbie Burdett
